Bahia del Sol — In El Salvador you have a problem. You can anchor and surf at La Libertad, but it's very exposed. There is a good beach break in front of the Hotel Bahia del Sol. The hotel also gives you free anchorage, use of their pools and even a free room for one night! It can be difficult to enter the anchorage when there is a swell running because the entrance runs over a bar that breaks. You call the hotel on the VHF as you approach the bar for a guide who will assist you. We surfed a 6 foot wave coming in and motored through another 6 footer going out. The next stop is Barillas, another 30 miles down the coast, so plan accordingly
